The public administration in Slovakia is expected to serve citizens more efficiently, support the sustainable growth of the economy through its services, and contribute toward the long-term development of the country and the quality of life of all citizens, reads the Report on Public Administration Reform accepted by Government on Thursday.
The reform is to consist of three stages: Scrapping the specialised state administration at the regional level, merging the powers of a number of specialised state administration bodies under the remit of a single state bureau at the local level, and a series of individual measures which will see the restructuring and transformation of other specialised bureaus at the regional level (2012-16).
