Exhibition of spiders and scorpions underway in Košice

An exhibition titled The Fascinating World of Spiders and Scorpions, prepared by the Eastern Slovak Museum (VSM) in Košice along with a Polish firm is underway, with the goal being to entertain, inform and also help people to overcome their fear of these animals. "We were able to install 40 terrariums here with five types of scorpion species, with the rest housing spiders," said Eva Sitášová, head of the Eastern Slovak Museum's natural science department in Košice. The exhibition wants to help individuals overcome their fear of spiders, albeit temporarily, through daring competitions where spiders will be selected seemingly at random and placed on people's hands. Those who accept the challenge will be declared winners. 35 species of spider and five species of scorpions from Asia, Australia, North Africa and other countries will be on display from Thursday (3 May) at 4 pm until the end of September at the Eastern Slovak Museum in Košice.
