Churches and religious communities write open letter to Premier

Representatives of Christian churches and Jewish religious communities in Slovakia have written an open letter to Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD) in which they reject corruption and stress the need to investigate the murders of journalist Jan Kuciak and his fiancée Martina Kušnírová, TASR learnt on Thursday. Representatives of Christian churches and Jewish religious communities reject corruption in any form; it should be pushed out from society. "Corruption, which causes so much injustice, threatens democracy itself. The loss of trust in the political system that fails to ensure justice leads to the rise of extremism. We're concerned about the atmosphere of hate that is spreading in some social groups," they said.
Churches and religious communities respect legitimately elected public representatives and call on everyone to resolve the crisis situations with deliberation and humility.
