Slovakia has big depth in waste management

The European parliament has said 'yes' to the circular economy by a very large majority. This is the result of three years of work. MEP Simona Bonafè said it was possible to turn waste from an expense to the public into value for the economy. The package lays out waste management targets in the European Union for the period until 2035. Among other changes, the legislation increases the minimum quota for recycling municipal waste and preparing it for reuse to 55 per cent by 2025. Slovaks currently recycle only 15 percent of the country's total waste and thus are in last place among the EU member states.
