Slovak President Andrej Kiska celebrated the charter of two military units on Tuesday, being the first time he had done so personally. The new units are the Sereď Engineer Battalion and the Nitra Anti-aircraft Missile Brigade. "The handing over of the these units is not just the beginning of building a new military tradition, but it's also a sign of respect for your work, a symbol of pride for these soldiers and for all soldiers within the Slovak Armed Forces," stated Kiska in front of 500 troops at the Presidential Palace. To date, 15 military battalions have been commissioned into service in Slovakia.
