On Tuesday morning President Andrej Kiska accepted the resignation of Interior Minister Tomáš Drucker. The Ministry will be temporarily run by the Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini who promised to announce some decisions regarding this institution later on Tuesday. A former Health Minister as a nominee of the largest coalition party Smer-SD, Drucker spent only three weeks at the helm of the Interior Ministry. On Monday he resigned, saying he found no reason to recall the Police Chief despite the request of a part of the civil society to do so.
