Slovakia wants to preside at the ministerial level over the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in 2019, with the candidacy requiring approval by the Government, which is on the agenda of its session on Wednesday. Slovakia's third major candidacy is, according to the Foreign Affairs Ministry, confirmation of the country's interest in being an active country on the international scene. At the session Cabinet approved that the Slovakia's priority in terms of bilateral international treaties is to prevent the double taxation of Slovak entrepreneurs and foreign investors as well as to protect investments in non-EU countries. With Russia, the objective is to negotiate agreements that will have a "positive impact on boosting economic cooperation".
