No potential culprit identified

Questions remaining over the premeditated murders of journalist Jan Kuciak and his fiancée Martina Kusnirova are starting to disappear, Hospodarske Noviny daily reported on Wednesday. Police Corps President Tibor Gašpar said in an interview with Czech daily MF Dnes that new facts should be presented to the public soon. "A ground breaking development will come," he said. According to the information available to the daily, the police have already identified a potential culprit. From the original scenarios, the investigation team are thus only focusing on one. Independent daily Dennik N meanwhile informed that prosecutor as well as the police confirmed that this information of Hospodárske noviny is not true. The Special Prosecutor's Office refused to comment on information about a potential offender so as not to hinder the investigation process. "With such serious criminal offences, the restraint of law enforcement bodies in providing information to the public is absolutely necessary, which ensures achieving the main goal, namely to reveal and punish the perpetrators," Special Prosecutor's Office spokesperson Jana Tökölyová told HN.
