Slovak army gets second Spartan plane

The Slovak army has received the second Spartan transport plane which it purchased for its air force. The aircraft landed at the Kuchyna military airbase on Monday, with the planes replacing the old An-26 and An-24 in the fleet. The procurement of the Italian-made planes was launched in 2008 but delayed by financial issues on the Slovak side. The contract was finally signed in 2014. The planes were purchased for a total €98 million (plus VAT) but including the cost of technical services and training .
