The Kia plant in Teplička nad Váhom near Žilina is making full use of its production capacity for the first time this year and at the end of 2013 will have produced a record 300,000 vehicles.
This follows news earlier this year that Volkswagen Slovakia had ramped up their own production levels by 4.8 percent more than the same period in the previous year. Kia, Volkswagen, and PSA Peugeot Citroën make up a trinity of automotive producers in Slovakia, with J & T Bank analyst Stanislav Panis pointing out that production is expected to increase even further. “They’ve managed to increase not only this year’s production but future production as well”.
