Sagan wins Paris-Roubaix for the first time

The Slovak road cyclist and currently three consecutive time World Champion Peter Sagan won the Paris-Roubaix on Sunday. Sagan cut himself off from the peloton 54 kilometres before the finish of the 257 kilometre race. He was later accompanied by two more riders and arrived at the Roubaix Velodrome together with Swiss Silvan Dillier of the AG2R team, whom he subsequently defeated in the final sprint. The rider from the German Bora-Hansgrohe team dominated this race, famous for its rough terrain and cobblestones and called the Hell of the North, a Sunday in Hell, for the first time in his career. With this victory, Sagan has completed his collection of triumphs from the so-called cobbled classics which also include the Tour of Flanders, E3 Harelbeke and Gent–Wevelgem.
