Former Parliamentary Speaker Pavol Paška dies

Pavol Paška, former Speaker of Parliament and member of Smer-SD, has died at the age of 60 due to a heart attack, confirmed TASR on Friday (06.04). Paška was initially elected as the deputy leader of Smer-SD at the party's annual congress on April 12, 2003. Following the 2006 parliamentary elections, Parliament elected Paška as its new speaker, a role which he held until 2010, before being elected to the position again in 2012. Pavol Paška was declared dead on Friday morning at the Railway Hospital & Polyclinic in Košice.
