New Interior Minister takes his time and protesters react

Within the first week of his new tenure as Interior Minister, Tomáš Drucker, a Smer-SD nominee, hasn't made a decision regarding the future of Police Corps President Tibor Gašpar yet. The police chief has links to influential business people featured in articles by the murdered journalist Ján Kuciak. On Wednesday, however, the new Interior Minister said that he will make up his mind about Gašpar within a month. In reaction to these statements another protest "for a decent Slovakia" has been announced for next Thursday, April 5 in Bratislava. Other Slovak towns are about to join on Thursday and Friday too. The organisers explain that "If the politicians were able to create a new government in two days, we do not understand Drucker's excuse that he cannot find a new police president in the ranks of decent police officers within a few days."
