Uber cancels service in Slovakia following court order

The ride-sharing service Uber has decided to suspend its operation in Slovakia, with users not being able to order the service since March 27 at 22:00. This decision stems from a ruling made by the district court in Bratislava, which ordered Uber to switch off the application under pressure from taxi drivers and unions. "We heard the decision of the court, even though we have not received it officially yet," Uber wrote to its drivers, reported the daily Sme. "Subsequently we have decided to suspend operation in Bratislava until the situation is solved." Uber is appealing the decision of the court.
