Bratislava's Milan Rastislav Štefánik Airport will provide 49 regular routes to 45 destinations in 23 countries in the upcoming summer season, with the new summer flight schedule becoming effective on March 25th, wrote TASR. "A total of nine new flight routes have been added to the summer flight schedule of the Milan Rastislav Štefánik Airport in Bratislava," stated airport's general director Jozef Pojedinec. This has been the highest number of regular flights in the airport's history. As many as six new routes from Bratislava will be operated by the Irish low-cost airline Ryanair this summer, including to Malta, Burgas (Bulgaria), Pafos (Cyprus), Thessaloniki (Greece), Eindhoven (the Netherlands) and to Dalaman (Turkey). One new daily flight between Bratislava and London-Luton will be launched by the Hungarian low-cost operator Wizz Air. In addition, Georgian Airways, a new airline coming to Bratislava, will launch a route to Tbilisi (Georgia). "Compared to last year's flight schedule, there is also a new route to Bologna, Italy, which has only been in operation since last October," said Pojedinec, adding that a route to Catania in Sicily is new as well, with Czech airline SmartWings launching flights to this destination as of June. The summer flight schedule will be in effect until October 27.
