The newly-appointed Slovak Government will continue on its pro-European course, stated newly-appointed Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD) after arriving at his first EU summit in Brussels on Thursday. The new premier told journalists that he came to the summit with respect and that it's an honour for him to represent Slovakia at the event. "I want to assure my colleagues that Slovakia and the Government under my leadership will follow a clear pro-European course," said Pellegrini, who went on to say that if the EU leaders are interested in the events in Slovakia he is ready to provide them with more information.
