At the end of last month, 50,500 foreigners officially worked in Slovakia, almost a third more than during the same period last year, according to data from the Slovak Labour Office. Citizens of Serbia make up the largest group of foreigners on the local labor market. At the end of February, there were 11,900 of them working in Slovakia, almost double the number from a year ago. Romanians are the second most numerous group with over 8,700 of them working in Slovakia, followed by about 5,000 Hungarians. Close to one in three foreigners working in Slovakia was doing so in Bratislava at the end of February.
