Hundreds of people gathered on Hodžovo Square in Bratislava in front of the Presidential Palace on Wednesday to protest against what they see as an ongoing attempt at a coup d'état, the TASR press agency reports, quoting one of the protest organisers Rastislav Blaško. People on the square chanted that President Andrej Kiska should resign and concurred that they did not want him to run for re-election in the upcoming presidential race. Kiska was depicted by former Prime Minister Robert Fico as beholden to American billionaire George Soros and attempting to orchestrate the collapse of the government. The "Spolocnost Prav Obcanov" civic association, which organised the protest gathering, calls for an investigation into corruption in all segments of society, starting with President Kiska, the Government as well as the opposition.
