Police have completed an investigation into the case of a woman who released the contents of an unknown corrosive chemical aboard a public bus in Bratislava. The investigation revealed that it was a commonly available product designed primarily to unblock drains, and the woman caused herself injury through its improper handling. Police began their investigation on January 17, 2018, following reports that a woman suffered chemical burns on a public bus in Rusovská Street in the Bratislava borough of Petržalka. Upon their arrival at a bus stop, police found that there was a woman aboard the bus with injuries caused by an unknown chemical substance, which had also damaged her clothing. "The results of the subsequent expert investigation revealed that it was a commonly available detergent designed primarily to clean pipelines," said regional police spokesperson Veronika Slamková in Bratislava. She confirmed that the 41-year-old woman in question will not be prosecuted.
