SMER-SD announces its candidates for new government

Richard Raši, the former Health Minister and current mayor of the eastern Slovak City of Košice should replace the new Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini, who is leaving his post as Deputy Prime Minister for Informatisation and Investment, announced the departing Prime Minister Robert Fico at a press conference on Monday. Jozef Ráž, currently a deputy chair of the service office at the Health Ministry should replace Robert Kaliňák at the post of Interior Minister. SMER-SD also nominated Ľubica Laššáková for the post of Culture Minister to replace Marek Maďarič. Laššáková is the party's regional chair in the Banská Bystrica region. She worked as a radio host and reporter for Slovak Public Radio for 23 years until 2011. For all the other ministerial posts, SMER did not suggest any changes.
