Gábor Gál should become new Justice Minister

The departing Justice Minister Lucia Žitňanská should be replaced by Gábor Gál, announced Béla Bugár, chair of the coalition Most-Híd party which nominated both names, at a press conference on Monday. Gál is the first officially announced of the new ministers in the new government of Peter Pellegrini, which replaces the cabinet of former Prime Minster Robert Fico. All ministers from the Slovak National Party - Education, Defence and Agriculture should not be changed. Most-Híd does not intend to change its other ministers - Transport and Environment. As of Monday morning, the largest governing SMER-SD party had not announced its candidates. The biggest question mark is with the post of Interior Minister. A heated discussion also surrounds the nomination for the Culture Minister. When the name of Erik Tomáš, former media advisor of Robert Fico emerged, 40 leading Slovak artists signed a petition against him.
