Ryanair to launch direct flights from Bratislava to Turkey

Passengers will be able to fly from Milan R. Štefánik Airport in Bratislava to the Turkish city of Dalaman as of June 28, since the Irish low-cost airline Ryanair is launching this service to be run once a week, on Thursdays, the airport's spokesperson Veronika Ševčíková told TASR on Thursday. "The Turkish route is already the sixth new regular route to be launched from Bratislava's airport after switching from the winter to the summer flight schedule," said Ševčíková. The flight schedule will be changed on Sunday, March 25, in connection with the transition of daylight savings time. Ryanair will launch new routes to Burgas in Bulgaria, to Malta, to Paphos in Cyprus and to Thessaloniki in Greece as of late March. Subsequently, it will open a new route to Eindhoven in the Netherlands as of June 1 and the aforementioned Turkish line as of June 28. Ryanair is thus entering the Turkish market for the first time. "Ryanair airline will operate a total of 25 regular routes from the Bratislava airport this summer, which is the highest figure reported since it launched its operations in Slovakia in 2005," said the airport's general director Jozef Pojedinec.
