Distrust in the state, corruption and a lack of safety for journalists were key findings in the European Commission report, released on Tuesday, which followed last week's official delegation which was sent to Slovakia to carry out a fact-finding mission following the murders of investigative journalist Ján Kuciak and his fiancée Martina Kušnírová. The 39-page report states that the Slovak Republic has fundamental problems in key areas which need to be addressed. More information follows in today's Topical Issue.
