Discounted chicken ends with three women facing jail

Police officers from Dubnica nad Váhom have accused a trio of women, aged 19, 55 and 56, from the district of Ilava of fraud. One of the accused worked as a cashier in a department store and lowered the price of selected goods in order for the others to purchase the items at very low rates. According to Trenčín Police spokesperson Pavol Kudlička, the youngest of the accused had a common agreement to reduce costs for the other two accused, operating from October last until January this year. Kudlička stated the example whereby a package of chicken breasts, which would have been valued at 11 euro, was processed by the cashier as two bread rolls valued at 12 cents. Financial damages to the company have been estimated to be above 368 euro. If found guilty, the three accused women could face prison sentences as long as two years each.
