As per President Andrej Kiska's request, the Slovak Intelligence Service (SIS) has supplied information on the activities of individuals allegedly involved in organised crime in eastern Slovakia, SIS spokesperson Branislav Zvara told TASR. This was in response to Kiska's statement that members of the Government have ignored SIS warnings about the activities of Italian mafia in eastern Slovakia for years. "The details of the talks between the SIS head and the president and other constitutional officials about SIS's intelligence activities cannot be provided to the public, as it's classified," said Zvara. At the same time, the intelligence agency warned against media speculation and misinterpreting information of this kind. "Given its classified nature, SIS considers it undesirable for such information to be the subject of public debate," added the spokesman.
