Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Gabriela Matečná (Slovak National Party/SNS nominee) met representatives of the European Parliament in Bratislava on Thursday, reported TASR. The MEPs' delegation inquired about land law, which in Slovakia is quite complex, said Michal Feik of the ministry's press department. According to the spokesman, members of the Slovak delegation presented the transparency of processes and high level of accuracy of agricultural support supervisory systems as well as the mandatory publishing of all rental contracts, which isn't usual among EU-member states. The special audit mission wrapped up on Friday, and was sent due to suspicions that the murders of investigative journalist Ján Kuciak and his fiancée Martina Kušnírová were linked to fraudulent use of European funds.
