Slovakia will continue to engage in protecting the EU's external borders, with Cabinet approving an annual report on Slovakia's membership of the EU on Wednesday. According to the evaluation report, Slovakia will form part of the European Commission's new committee that is responsible for implementing an entry-exit regulation system aimed at recording the data of third-country nationals arriving to or leaving the EU. The protection of external borders is also needed for migration policy. In this regard, Slovakia will promote the streamlining of return migration policy and the strengthening of cooperation with migrants' countries of origin and transit. Slovak officials are still against mechanisms for the mandatory redistribution of asylum seekers, reads the report.
