Police search for hit and run driver in Košice

A 42-year-old woman suffered severe injuries on Thursday morning when the driver of a vehicle failed to stop at a pedestrian crossing at Trieda SNP and Ipeľská streets in Košice. The unidentified driver fled the scene without stopping after hitting the woman. "Police are searching for both the driver and vehicle and are seeking help from the public," said Košice Regional Police Spokesperson Jana Mésarová. According to police, the driver went through a red light and came across the pedestrian who had a green crossing signal. Police are appealing for information from drivers or pedestrians who passed through this area at the Košice police accident and traffic department at 7 Rampová Street or by telephone on 0961932520.
