Opposition for early elections

Opposition OĽaNO MP Veronika Remišová reacted to the President's option of the radical reconstruction of the government, saying that it was no longer an alternative. "Society needs a total restart as this cabinet is not able to govern this country in a good and just way," she said. As Remišová added, the early elections should be held as soon as possible. Richard Sulík and his party SaS set Tuesday, March 6, as the deadline for dismissing Róbert Kaliňák from his post as Interior Minister. "Otherwise we will start collecting signatures to dismiss the Prime Minister," stated Richard Sulík on his Facebook profile. Meanwhile, more opposition parties supported the idea of early elections. In modern Slovak history, only one government has come to an end after a president's speech. In 1994, President Michal Kováč criticised the practices of the Prime Minister Vladimír Mečiar. The new government was a minority cabinet.
