Almost 14% of total capital of Slovak firms in tax havens

Slovak companies control capital in tax havens amounting to €10.5 billion, according to the data of the consultancy company Bisnode. It represents 13.6% of the total capital of all Slovak companies. Over the past year Bisnode registered nearly 4,800 Slovak companies with headquarters in tax havens. The largest share is controlled by companies in the Netherlands, to an amount of almost €6.6 billion euros. "The Netherlands has been one of the top destinations in the long run of Slovak entrepreneurs in their choice of tax-favoured destinations, and in no other country do they own such a big volume of capital," said Bisnode analyst Petra Štěpánová.
