At least four people have died in Slovakia as the result of the frosty weather in recent days, stated Alena Krčová, spokesperson for the country's paramedic operations centre, to TASR on Tuesday. Paramedics treated 16 people in total between Sunday and Tuesday morning due to hypothermia. They weren't able to save the lives of four people - from the Prešov, Trnava, Žilina and Nitra regions. "A total of 13 patients - ten men and three women - were admitted to hospital," said Krčová. According to weather forecasts, the cold spell in Slovakia should last at least until the weekend.
