Tax Revenue Over-Optimistic, Claim Opposition

Finance Minister Peter Kažimír has miscalculated and will not collect as much as he planned via income tax from legal entities, claims the Deputy Chairman of the Freedom and Solidarity Party (SaS) Jozef Mihál. According to him, the Finance Ministry will have to revise its downward its estimate of the income from corporate tax in the spring.

Slovakia needs better collection of existing taxes rather than introduction of new levies, thinks SDKU-DS Deputy Chairman Ivan Štefanec. The opposition KDH party believes that more money in the state coffers from the collected value-added tax does not necessarily have to be the result of more efficient tax collection.
