The Irish low-cost airline Ryanair could open one of its regional centres at Bratislava's MR Štefánik Airport (BTS) next year. This stems from a meeting with Ryanair general director Michael O'Leary on Tuesday along with Slovak Ambassador to Ireland Dušan Matulay in Dublin where the two discussed company expansion plans.
“The base could be built in September next year at the earliest, when the company should have new planes”, reads information from the Foreign and European Affairs Ministry press department. The new base should bring a larger volume of flights and passengers as well as new destinations.
