Some 3.2 million tourists including locals chose Slovakia as their holiday destination over the first three quarters of this year. According to Transport Minister Ján Počiatek, the number represents an increase of 7.9 percent year-on-year.
“We're pleased at the continuing increase in visitor rates from neighbouring countries such as Hungary, Austria, Germany and Ukraine. The number of tourists from Russia has also been increasing,” said Slovak TourismBoard(SACR) Chief Marta Kučerová.
