President Andrej Kiska opened the Slovak House in PyeongChang on Friday before noon, Korean time. Expectations before the Olympic Games have never been higher. The Slovak athletes left for PyeongChang 2018 as favourites to win a medal in some events.This applies to biathlete Anastasiya Kuzmina and alpine skier Petra Vlhová. The Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Miroslav Lajčák, received the honour as the President of the UN General Assembly of carrying the Olympic flame on the occasion of the opening of the Winter Olympics.
