The commuting allowance will increase from €135 to €200, according to an amendment approved by Parliament on Thursday. Labour mobility contributions will also increase from €250 to a new limit of €400. These amendments to the Employment Services Act submitted by three MPs from Smer-SD also aim to simplify the conditions for employing people from third countries due to a shortage of skilled labour in Slovakia. This concerns districts where the registered unemployment rate is less than 5%. However, employers will only be able to employ a third-country national if they have not violated the prohibition on illegal employment within the last two years.
