The Government at its session on Wednesday approved the earmarking of €382,330 from its reserves for the operation of 20 consulting centres focused on preventing violence against women and domestic violence in the first quarter of this year. An additional €99,000 should be allocated for the Labour and Family Research Institute, specifically for operating a free non-stop helpline for women experiencing violence. "The number of services provided to women has expanded considerably in recent years, partly thanks to the contribution of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism and the European Social Fund," reads a Finance-Ministry sponsored document.
