Users of Bratislava's public city transport will be able to track the position of their buses and trams via a mobile application which can also recommend the most suitable connections based on their location and help them to plan their routes, said Bratislava mayor Ivo Nesrovnal on Monday. "The service, offered in the Slovak capital in cooperation with the Bratislava City Transport Company (DPB) and Hop-in, will facilitate travel and orientation within public city transport," said Nesrovnal. It will also be possible soon to buy tickets through the app. DPB claims that the speed of data provided to it via an external contractor will double by the end of the year. Thanks to this, the tracking of public transport vehicles should work faster than it does now. The tracking is currently updated every minute. Public city transport is currently trackable through an application on mobile devices using the Android operating system. The positioning should be enabled for iOS system users in the upcoming days.
