Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajčák in a speech delivered at the 20th OSCE Ministerial Council Meeting in Kiev on Friday welcomed the assurance of the Ukrainian Government that it will investigate the recent excessive use of force against demonstrators in the country, TASR learnt on the same day.
The OSCE Ministerial Council Meeting is a top event of the grouping at which foreign ministers and senior officials from 57 participating states make politically binding decisions determining the future direction of the organisation. In regard to the OSCE, Lajčák said that it should be active also beyond of the territorial scope of the participating countries, stating Afghanistan as an example.
