Javorčík: The EU and Britain have bought time in the post-Brexit period

Slovakia admits some flexibility might be in place in connection to the transitional period following the UK leaving the European Union, lasting until December 31, 2020. "To some extent, time has been bought - one year and nine months - to complete this agreement on Brexit," said the head of Slovakia's representation to the EU Peter Javorčík after the agreement was reached on Monday. He added that all citizens of other EU member states residing in the UK will benefit from all the existing rights during the transitional period.
