The first electric buses financed by EU funds have already been put in operation in Bratislava, and low-emission vehicles should gradually appear in Košice and Žilina as well, the TASR press agency reported. Bratislava has ordered 18 electric buses worth €10.4 million, with four of them already serving in the Slovak capital. The remaining 14 should be put in operation gradually, by the end of June. Košice will procure, with EU funds, nine 18-metre-long diesel buses meeting the toughest emission standards and nine electric buses. Žilina is set to buy 22 low-emission vehicles.
