Top Slovak politicians react to Czech presidential elections

President Andrej Kiska sent a telegram to Miloš Zeman congratulating him on his re-election as the President of the Czech Republic. Apart from highlighting the extraordinary relations between the two countries, Kiska also wrote that membership of the EU and NATO is key for the prosperity, stability and security of both states. Prime Minister Robert Fico congratulated Zeman on social media "I've always perceived him as an intelligent and experienced politician and I'm glad that the Czech public chose him again," wrote Fico. Another well-wishing message was sent by the Speaker of Parliament Andrej Danko. Incumbent president Miloš Zeman won the 2018 Czech presidential race when he defeated challenger Jiří Drahoš by approximately 2.8% in the second run-off round held last weekend.
