The European Investment Bank (EIB) lends a €70mln to Eustream, the Slovak gas transmission system operator, to finance the construction of the first high-pressure interconnecting gas pipeline between Świnoujście in Poland and Veľké Kapušany in Slovakia. The 164-km long pipeline is defined by the EU as a Project of Common Interest. The new gas infrastructure will also enable gas supplies in the case of a gas shortage, facilitating access to gas supplies from the Świnoujście LNG terminal in Poland.
