War veterans who have trouble finding accommodation should get access to a new lodging house, according to a draft law approved by the Cabinet on Wednesday. In addition to accommodation and related services, the lodging house might also provide catering services to veterans. However, it will not provide day care or nursing services. The one-off cost of the pilot project for establishing the lodging house is estimated at €150,000. "If a war veteran's income is not high enough to cover the cost of accommodation, services related to accommodation and catering services, the difference of up to €1,000 monthly will be paid by the Defence Ministry," reads the explanatory report.
