Police are investigating a shooting incident which took place in a block of flats on Rovniankova Street in Bratislava's borough of Petržalka on Monday (January 22) and claimed the lives of a woman, 23, and a man, 26, while leaving a small child unharmed, TASR learnt from Bratislava Regional Police spokesperson Lucia Miháliková on Tuesday. According to the police, it's likely that the man shot his girlfriend dead before turning the gun on himself. "Today's autopsies might shed more light on what precisely occurred," the police wrote on their Facebook website. "Fortunately, the six-month-old child survived." In the press release, Miháliková claimed that police officers found a firearm at the crime scene that the 26-year-old man possessed legally. "Due to the ongoing investigation, no further information about the case can be provided at this stage," said Miháliková.
