At the weekend congress of the Progressive Slovakia political party approved its statutes and elected its leaders in Žilina, central Slovakia. Entrepreneur Ivan Štefunko became the chair and lawyers Zuzana Čaputová and Irena Biháriová, cultural policy expert Zora Jaurová, entrepreneur Michal Truban and international relations expert Michal Šimeček were chosen as vice chairs. According to Čaputová, the party's main priorities are education and health care, but it wants to focus on other essential topics, such as law and justice and environmental protection. Progressive Slovakia aims to gather 15% of the votes in general elections in 2020. The party defines itself as liberal in terms of civic values as well as a party that would support the business environment and on the other help poorer people.
