US Congress deals with bill marking Slovakia’s independence

A draft law marking the 25^th anniversary of the founding of Slovakia and the Czech Republic and the establishment of their diplomatic relations with the US was submitted to the House of Representatives by Rod Blum, Republican Congressman, last week. As the TASR press agency reported, Blum, who has Slovak roots, thus aims to make Czech and Slovak history more visible, highlighting also the 100^th anniversary of the foundation of Czechoslovakia and the 50^th anniversary of the end of the Prague Spring - the Czech-Slovak communist-era reform process.
