US Ambassador: Slovakia more prosperous than ever

Slovakia, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary is a more stable, more prosperous and more secure country than at any other point in its history, said US Ambassador to Slovakia Adam Sterling at a press conference on Monday. Sterling recalled the actions of Slovak expatriates living in the USA in the effort to form Czechoslovakia in 1918, the United States' support for an independent Slovakia in 1993, US investment in Slovakia's economy and the partnership between the two countries in NATO. In order to mark the aforementioned anniversaries, the embassy will present Woodrow Wilson Awards to those who help boost US-Slovak relations. It will also organise a 25-kilometre cycle tour from the traditional region of Zahorie in western Slovakia to the M.R Štefánik Memorial at Bradlo.
