The monthly surplus of foreign trade in November increased to €535.5 million, according to the Statistics Office. It thus showed the highest monthly surplus since September 2014, taking analysts by surprise. "We expected that that November figure will follow the trend of moderate surpluses in foreign trade, " said Ľubomír Koršňák an analyst with Unicredit Bank Slovakia and the Czech Republic. "The structure of foreign trade does not give many reasons for joy, however. The November surplus is mainly the result of weaker imports and not an acceleration of exports," he added. The structure of November's exports is not yet known. More details will be revealed via quarterly reports in specific sectors.
