The Migration Office has released a practical guideline for asylum seekers and persons with international protection status in Slovakia. The booklet (PDF, 3.7MB) , available in six languages, aims at offering a real picture of Slovakia, reflecting the country's values as well as a certain "expectation" that Slovak citizens have towards foreigners. In the past 25 years a total of 912 people received asylum in Slovakia, with Afghan and Iraqi citizens being the largest groups. Meanwhile 1,528 people received protection status in the same period.
